Franklin Adhesives & Polymers

A division of Franklin International

Franklin Adhesives & Polymers, a division of Franklin International, manufactures adhesives for the domestic and global wood furniture, millwork and engineered-lamination markets; and provides pressure sensitive adhesives for office products and food packaging. The division supplies product and local service in more than 60 countries on six continents across the globe, and recently opened a plant in Guangzhou, China, to serve the Pacific Rimmore efficiently.

Franklin Adhesives & Polymers has led the way in the innovation of adhesives for wood and wood products and offers an adhesive solution for most applications in the wood product manufacturing plant. Under the trusted brand names Titebond, Multibond, ReacTITE and Advantage, these products provide superior performance in wood assembly, solid edge and face gluing, engineered product lamination and finger jointing. The division also provides pressure-sensitive adhesives for labels, tapes, films and office products marketed under the brand names of Covinax and Micronax. These adhesives range from FDA-approved emulsions for the food-packaging market to ultra-removable formulations used in the office-products industry.

Franklin Adhesives & Polymers remains committed to pioneering environmentally safe products that also maintain high performance characteristics. The division recently introduced the first 100 percent formaldehyde-free, water-resistant wood adhesive; and also proudly announced that three of its Covinax pressure sensitive adhesives have been certified by the U.S. Forest Products Laboratory to be easily removable from paper during the recycling process.

Franklin International

Established in 1935, Franklin International is among the largest privately held manufacturers of adhesives and sealants in the U.S. The corporate headquarters employs approximately 400 in its laboratory, R&D center and manufacturing facility, in Columbus, Ohio; eight distribution centers across the U.S.; and a new plant in Guangzhou, China. The company provides local support to customers domestically and globally through a network of 75 independent sales representatives and direct field sales associates. Franklin integrates its core competency – emulsion polymerization – into a broad product offering, including glues, adhesives, hot melts, binders, films and sizing compounds for use in construction, wood furniture manufacturing, millwork, paper converting, pressure-sensitive paper products and fiberglass reinforcement. The company has a proud history of pioneering industry firsts, including the first ground-hide glue in a liquid state (1935) and the first aliphatic resin glue (1955).
